I am a professor of economics at the Stockholm School of Economics primarily interested in applied microeconomics and behavioral economics. I obtained my Ph.D. in Economics from Stockholm School of Economics in 2008 and worked at the Institute for International Economic Studies (IIES) between 2008 and 2018. In 2021, I was awarded the Assar Lindbeck Medal together with my collaborator Erik Lindqvist (prize motivation in Swedish).

I am currently program director for the M.Sc. program in economics at SSE (check this new video out if you are curious about our program). Outside my work at SSE, I am a board member of the Expert Group on Public Economics (ESO) and the Swedish Economics Association. I am also member of the scientific advisory board of the Swedish Consumer Protection Agency. I also enjoy writing about economics for a broader audience, primarily at the Swedish blog Ekonomistas (which I co-founded back in 2008).

Read more about my research, teaching and popular writing or consult my CV. You can also find information about me on Wikipedia (in Swedish) and Google Scholar. If you are looking for the computational linguist Robert Östling, click here.
